The Anti-Step system of Chung Shi shoes simulates the natural instability of barefoot walking which forces the muscles to work a little harder.  Every step both tones and strengthens muscles producing a movement that is at once more natural and biomechanically correct.  Constant toning and stretching of muscles results in improved stability for the joints as well as their load being considerably reduced.  Pressure is taken off the joints.  So that your muscles can get used to this new way of movement, the recommendation is to extend the time of wearing them gradually.
